OCHOPEE, FLORIDA: During a visit to a migrant detention center in Florida on Tuesday, July 1, President Donald Trump veered off into a bizarre tirade about water pressure at a press conference.
Comparing his executive orders to those of former Presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama, Trump slammed their environmental regulations on showers and dishwashers, going so far as to claim that “water comes down from heaven.”
Boasting that he reversed these rules through his executive actions, he dismissed the prior restrictions as the work of “crazy people.” His unusual remarks quickly sparked widespread mockery online.
Donald Trump goes on a rant about water flow in showers
Donald Trump’s recent visit to a migrant detention center once again drew attention for an unexpected rant about water flow in household appliances like showers and dishwashers.
While touting that he had signed “more executive orders” than former President Joe Biden, Trump took aim at water pressure regulations implemented during the Obama and Biden administrations.
He criticized the use of water restrictors, claiming they left faucets and showerheads barely functional.

Trump began, “You buy a house, you have a faucet in the house, and the water doesn’t come out. They have a restrictor in areas where you have so much water; they don’t know what to do with it. You have a shower head, the shower doesn’t, you think it’s not working, it is working.”
“The water is dripping out. That’s no good for me. I like that head nice and wet,” Trump said, dramatically demonstrating the issue by removing his hat and running his hand through his hair.

He joked, or perhaps lamented, that it takes “20 minutes to get the soap out of your hair. It sounds funny, but it’s really not. It’s horrible,” calling the regulations the work of “crazy people.” who initiated “restrictions on showers, toilets, and sinks, and washing machines.”
Trump said appliance manufacturers like Whirlpool had told him the rules prevented them from producing competitive products, an issue he claimed no longer exists since he rolled back those restrictions.
“Do you have problems with water? ‘No, we have so much that we don’t know what to do with it. You know, comes down from heaven,’” he said. He also celebrated bringing back plastic straws, saying he was fed up with paper ones “melting in my mouth.”
