BROOKLYN, NEW YORK: Just days before her untimely death, celebrity chef Anne Burrell shared a cheerful selfie that now stands as a poignant final glimpse into the life of one of the Food Network’s most charismatic stars.
The 55-year-old chef and television personality, known for her vibrant personality and platinum blonde hair, appeared glowing in a photo posted last Thursday, June 12, according to Page Six.

In the photo, posted last Thursday, June 12, Burrell beamed beside a beloved local personality known as the Green Lady of Brooklyn, famous for her head-to-toe emerald outfits and matching green hair.
“I ran into @greenladyofbrooklyn in my neighborhood today!!” Burrell captioned the post, adding, “I’m not going to lie- I have been keeping an eye out for her. I may or may not have followed her down the street for a minute. She is just lovely!!! #ilovewhatido #luckygirl.”

Known for her no-nonsense coaching style on Worst Cooks in America, Burrell was a fixture on the Food Network, admired for her culinary expertise, humor, and heart. “Anne’s light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions across the world,” her family added. “Though she is no longer with us, her warmth, spirit and boundless love remain eternal.”
The network also expressed its sorrow, calling Burrell a “remarkable person and culinary talent,” who “taught, competed and shared the joy food can bring.”
Burrell is survived by her husband, Stuart Claxton, whom she married in 2021, and her stepson, Javier.
