NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘The View’ co-host Sunny Hostin revealed that she feels “terrible” that her question to former Vice President Kamala Harris cost her the 2024 presidential election.

In a pre-election interview, Hostin had asked Harris what she would have done differently than former President Joe Biden.

While speaking to the show’s producer Brian Teta on the ‘Behind the Table’ podcast, Hostin said she was right to ask the question, but hated its impact on the election, according to the Daily Mail.

During Hostin’s interview with Harris in October 2024, the former VP infamously told the host that there was nothing she would change from how her boss governed.

She told Hostin, “There is not a thing that comes to mind.”

The former Democratic nominee justified her reason for keeping to Biden’s record and said, “I’ve been a part of most of the decisions that have had impact.”

During the Wednesday, June 18 podcast, Teta asked Hostin if she expected her question to Harris to become a viral moment, and the show’s co-host replied, “I knew it instantly when she answered it.”

Moreover, she admitted that she desperately tried to save Harris with another question on the subject.

“Which is why I asked the follow-up question, ‘Is there one thing?’ Because I knew, I could see the soundbite and I knew what was going to happen, but I thought it was a really fair question and I thought it was a question that she would expect,” Hostin said.

Furthermore, she felt even worse when she got to know that the anecdote was mentioned in Jake Tapper’s bombshell book about the cover-up of Biden’s alleged senility, per the outlet.

Hostin said, “And now Jake Tapper wrote it in his book? I feel terrible.”

During the podcast, Teta asked the co-hosts if they felt Harris’ answer really cost her the election, and Hostin replied, “No, right?” as she smiled and asked the live audience present.

Interestingly, co-host Sara Haines and Teta agreed, but Alyssa Farah Griffin believed it did play a role in Harris’ election loss.

She said, “The Trump campaign put so much ad money behind that specific clip, and what they were trying to do is tie her to Biden’s unfavorabilities, but more than that, just simply the right-track, wrong-track of the election… They used it to say, ‘Well, she’s not going to do anything different’.”

Moreover, Democratic strategist James Carville claimed after the election that Harris’ loss could be because of the viral moment on ‘The View’.

Carville said in November 2024, “The country wants something different. And she’s asked, as is so often the case, in a friendly audience, on ‘The View,’ ‘How would you be different than Biden?’ That’s the one question that you exist to answer, alright? That is it. That’s the money question.”

Sunny Hostin trolled for feeling ‘terrible’ about asking Kamala Harris question that cost her election

Many internet users trolled Sunny Hostin after she said that she feels “terrible” that her interview with Kamala Harris took down the Democratic Party.

An online comment read, “Oh, she feels terrible. They all look terrible and would’ve done the same things, probably worse. She lost!” while one added, “What is actually astonishing is that she regrets asking the question… not that Harris could not answer it.”

A person also stated, “The View’s ratings are trash for a reason —- No one trusts them to tell the truth,” whereas one mentioned, “Dumber than a bag of hammers.”

A user also wrote, “The view is so unbelievably out of touch. It is truly astonishing,” while one commented, “She regrets accidentally doing something right.”

A person also added, “Why is she apologizing, because that question wasn’t in the script? Break Free.”
